Cliff Bleszinski Says Project Scorpio is “Promising”, Shares Thoughts on Gears of War 4
Some may know Cliff Bleszinski as the creator of the popular FPS franchise Gears of War. Others may just know him to be Cliffy B. “Retiring” after three titles in the Gears world, he decided to come back with something special: A studio to call his own(Boss Key Productions) and a new FPS that is sure to shake up the market in some way. It was recently announced that LawBreakers would be coming to the PS4 in addition to PC, but there has been no word on the Xbox side of things. In fact, fans don’t even know what Bleszinski thinks of Microsoft’s upcoming console.

Well, thanks to a recent Reddit AMA, Cliffy B spoke about Project Scorpio and how he finds it to be “promising”. This, of course, was not before he dropped a nice Rick and Morty reference to really drive his point home. Reddit user jokerswild1987 asked, “Even if Lawbreakers doesn’t make it to the xbox one what are your thoughts on Scorpio, Impressed? Lacking?” Bleszinski offers up an answer, and he also provides a little hope for Xbox players that want LawBreakers on their systems. Here’s what he said in not-so-safe-for-work words:
MS is getting their shit together. They’re putting it in a backpack or in a shit museum and getting it alllll together. Scorpio is promising. MS bet on Kinect too hard last round. Don’t rule out an Xbox version, btw.”
While it isn’t much, it is something, right? Needless to say, it would appear that Cliff Bleszinski is a fan of where Microsoft is heading. It would also seem that he liked Gears of War 4, the first title in the franchise not developed by Epic Games and without him being attached to it. After being asked his thoughts on it by the Reddit user above, he had this to say:
Enjoyed G4, played through it with Lauren. Curious how much of my ideas will stick as they continue with the series… :)”
With the latest project from Cliff Bleszinski just finishing its second closed beta, a new cinematic trailer for LawBreakers was released. The gravity-defying FPS is set to hit stores at some point this year, but we may not know more until E3 in a few weeks. Don’t Feed the Gamers will be there so stay tuned to ensure you don’t miss anything!
