Project Scorpio Dev Kit’s Built-In Screen Shows More Than Just FPS (VIDEO)
Recently, a video popped up that showed a built-in screen on the prototype of Microsoft’s upcoming Project Scorpio. The small display showed the real time framerate of what was being played. Now, thanks to a new video from Windows Central’s Jez Corden, fans have an even better look at what the Scorpio dev kit’s tiny built-in monitor is capable of, and it includes dolphins. In fact, it can show up to 12 of them. Take a look at the video below:

According to Corden, the built-in screen on the Scorpio dev kit is “fully programmable”. In the video, we are able to see some of the less-than-stellar options that are available, such as various fonts and the like. The display is also able to provide video playback, especially that of the aforementioned dolphins, which developers can proudly show off 12 of at the same time, “because, why not?”
Xbox’s Project Scorpio dev kit is for developers of games and software to use while creating content for the upcoming console. There’s no telling if the fancy little screen will make its way to the consumer version of the system, but there probably isn’t a reason for it to do so. It’s helpful for developers to see real time statistics while running their software, instead of potentially using third-party apps. While fans have a good understanding of what’s going to be under the hood of Project Scorpio, we’ll all have to wait until E3 for any pricing, games, and what the final version will look like. Don’t Feed the Gamers will be on the scene in Los Angeles next month, so be sure to stay tuned and informed.
What say the gamers of the world? Can’t wait to learn everything possible about the upcoming Xbox console? Would you like to see the built-in screen on consumer products, or should that be left for the Scorpio dev kits? Drop those thoughts in the comments section below!
