Injustice 2 Championship Series and Dates Announced by Warner Bros. – Big Prizes (VIDEO)
Injustice 2 releases May 16th and soon after players can begin looking forward to professional level fighting competitions and tournaments showcasing the game. Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has announced an Injustice 2 Championship series with up to $600,000 in total, which can be earned across four different tournaments presented by PlayStation 4 that will eventually lead into the Global Grand Finals in October.
The largest cash prize is $300,000 within the Injustice 2 Championship Series and can be won through the Injustice 2 Pro Series starting May 26th. The tournament will be held globally, run for four months, and will broadcast live on Twitch. 16 players from North America, Europe, and Latin America will enter into the finals September 17th, which is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, California. Sitting in at a $20,000 cash prize is the Path to Pro Tournament that will be held in Europe.
The last two events are considerably smaller with prize pools of $5,000. The Gamestop Hometown Heroes event will be held in the US through 8 regions and consist of 10 weeks of competition held each Sunday beginning June 4th. The top 8 players of each region will enter a regional finals held in GameStop stores August 12th, and the top 4 from each region will enter into the Finals held at GameStop’s Consumer Expo in Las Vegas on August 27th. Latin America will see the Liga Latina Tournament which will be held across Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, and Chile May 27th through August 12th.
Not only will players be winning money in each of the tournaments, but they will also be able to win a spot in the Injustice 2 Championship Series Grand Finals.
