PlayStation Plus Free Games For April 2021 Revealed (VIDEO)
With the end of the month finally here, Sony has revealed the free games for April 2021 as part of its ongoing PlayStation Plus subscription service. March’s offerings were actually quite nice, with Final Fantasy VII Remake headlining the batch of goodies with Maquette, Remnant: From the Ashes, and Farpoint. While there’s still a little bit of time left to snag the previously mentioned titles, April’s batch of games are right around the corner.
Sony took to its PlayStation Blog site today to reveal the latest batch of free PlayStation Plus games for April 2021. The free games for this coming month are Days Gone, Oddworld: Soulstorm, and Zombie Army 4: Dead War. These three titles will all be available to download from Tuesday, April 6 to Monday, May 3.
Days Gone is the first of two zombie titles headlining this month’s PlayStation Plus games. Set in a post-apocalyptic USA,the open-world title puts players into the shoes of bounty hunter Deacon St. John as he fights for survival as he journeys across the Pacific Northwest on his handy motorcycle. The game rewards those that utilize smart thinking, customized weapons, and improvised traps to take out the undead opposition.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War takes a notably different approach to zombie killing, forgoing any gravitas in favor of campy music, cheesy one-liners, and over-the-top action. There are also zombie sharks and a Hitler zombie overlord, so there’s more or less something for everyone here. Zombie Army 4 is a very, very different experience in comparison to Days Gone, and the devs seem perfectly fine with that.
The final free PlayStation Plus game for April 2021 is none other than Oddworld: Soulstorm. Announcedabout a year ago, Soulstorm is this month’s PlayStation 5 exclusive offering, so those still rocking their last-gen PS4’s will only have access to the two zombie games this month. For those that do have a PS5, Soulstorm acts as a direct sequel to 2014’s Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty, and puts players into the shoes of the unlikely hero Abe as he fights to save his fellow Mudokons.
As always, there’s still a bit of time left before the previous month’s PlayStation Plus games are no longer available. Info on those games can be found right here.
