Toph Gets Print Treatment In New Avatar: The Last Airbender Spin-Off Graphic Novel
Dark Horse recently stated that Toph Beifong (a popular character from the hit Nickelodeon TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender) will be receiving her own spin-off graphic novel. The story will take place after Sokka, Zuko, Katara and Aang have split up and Toph has landed at the Beifong Metalbending Academy.
Followers of the show will know that Toph is arguably one of the most powerful earthbenders of her time and traveled with Aang becoming his earthbending teacher. Toph, also known as The Blind Bandit was first introduced in the series entitled as such. The episode aired on May 5th of 2006 where Sokka recieved a flyer in a shop in Gaoling for the earthbending academy. Katara then convinces Aang to check it out which prompted a chain of events that lead to Toph.
The graphic novel will spotlight the feelings of dullness Toph is experiencing as the adventures with her comrades have come to and end. The graphic novel called Avatar: The Last Airbender – Toph Beifong’s Metalbending Academy will highlight the return of Suki and Sokka as well as some additional friendly faces with a discovery that may help light a spark that Toph may feel is missing. The story is written by Faith Erin Hicks, drawn by Perter Wartman with colors by Adele Matera. The graphic novel is also working in collaboration with Tim Hedrick who was a writer for Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Avatar: The Last Airbender – Toph Beifong’s Metalbending Academy is set to be released on February 16, 2021 with pre-orders already available through local comic shops, Barnes and Noble and amazon. Outside of those minor details not much else is known about the story that is to be told with this particular installment in the graphic novel series.
