The XCOM 2: War of the Chosen expansion was revealed during E3 2017 and with it unveiled 3 new classes of ADVENT foes for players to battle against – the Assassin, Hunter, and Warlock. The first of which now has an “inside look” at her tactics and the story behind what fuels the drive to capture the Commander. Aside from her commendable discipline and loyalty, the Assassin “exudes an air of self-importance” due to her unmatched combat skills and belief in humanity’s meager existence. The terror of the Assassin doesn’t stop at arrogance and unmatched, stealthy close ranged attacks. Rather, in order to pose a relentless assault on the soldier morale and numbers, the team of Chosen will kidnap them and can “sabotage the Avenger”. What’s more is their increasing difficulty, growing ever stronger with each progression in the main story.

The Assassin has mastered the katana and almost exclusively fights with it alone. Her ability to vanish from sight allows her to get in close on unsuspecting soldiers for a powerful slash. The Assassin can also stun and disorient groups of soldiers with Harbor Wave, an ability that sends a flood of psionic force from a distance.”
