Your Xbox One Controller Designs Can Earn You Money and Possibly Appear in Future Commercials!

Everyone knows about Xbox’s Design Lab where players can customize their very own Xbox One controllers. As if you needed more reasons to let your creativity flow, now you can earn digital currency for your designs. Microsoft has announced that gamers who create popular Xbox One controller designs can not only earn Xbox Live currency based on sales of their creation, but their designs could be featured in future advertising campaigns. Xbox’s ad agency’s Chief Creative Officer Laurence Thomson explained that once you create a custom controller, it is now your property.

“When you design a controller on the platform, beyond owning it, the unique design actually becomes yours, yours to name and yours to promote–for the first time you can earn from it, we’ll even give you all the marketing tools so you can push it yourself.”

The Xbox Design Lab was first announced at E3 2016 and fans were quick to start making the custom Xbox One controller of their dreams. A few of our writers made multiple controller designs, because who could really only make one? There are over 8 MILLION different combinations of colors and design options and now there is no reason to not hop on there and start creating! Unfortunately the Design Lab is only available in the US and Canada right now and the company has not given a specific date of when this new campaign will start, but DFTG will update our fans as soon as they do.
