The end of the month has quickly come upon us, and so too has Microsoft’s reveal of what’s in store next month for its ongoing Xbox Games With Gold subscription service. The Xbox company has revealed that there are four titles on offer for August 2021, two of which are for older consoles as per usual. Sony set the bar pretty low this coming month for its PlayStation Plus games, and Microsoft managed to hop right over it.

Microsoft took to its Xbox news site to reveal the upcoming free games for August 2021 for Xbox Games With Gold subscribers. These games are Darksiders III, Yooka-Laylee, Lost Planet 2, and Garou: Mark of the Wolves. Two of the titles will be available at the start of next month, while the other two will become available on August 16. Here’s the breakdown:

• Darksiders III ($59.99 ERP): Available August 1 to 31
• Yooka-Laylee ($39.99 ERP): Available August 16 to September 15
• Lost Planet 3 ($19.99 ERP): Available August 1 to 15
• Garou: Mark of the Wolves ($9.99 ERP): Available August 16 to 31

As displayed in the above video from Microsoft, both Darksiders III and Yooka-Laylee are available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, while both Lost Planet 3 and Garou: Mark of the Wolves are available via backward compatibility.

As a reminder, there are still a few days left to snag this month’s Xbox Games With Gold titles. The two games that are still available are Planet Alpha and Midway Arcade Origins. More on this month’s free games can be found right here.
