Xbox Game Pass Leak Suggests Discord Nitro Bundle Coming Soon

Ever since cable companies started offering savings via bundling, the practice has gone on to trickle into various mainstream aspects of the commercial world. Subscription services like Hulu and Amazon Prime are now offered through other services, and as such it comes to no surprise that Microsoft is seemingly looking to offer something similar for the Xbox One, with a recent leak suggesting that a subscription to the Xbox Game Pass will be bundled with a Discord Nitro subscription in the near future.

The news comes by way of Neowin, which reported that data strings regarding the potential crossover promotion were discovered the latest Discord 9.8.3 beta for Android. Here’s the info below:

  • string name=”xbox_game_pass_promotion_redeem_body”Since you have Xbox Game Pass, you get 3 months of Nitro for free!/string
  • string name=”xbox_game_pass_promotion_existing_subscriber_body”Sorry, only new subscribers are eligible for this offer./string
  • string name=”xbox_game_pass_promotion_existing_subscriber_title”Oh no!/string
  • string name=”xbox_game_pass_promotion_account_credit_body””Since you have a boost subscription, we’ll give you Nitro subcription credit. Nitro credit will be applied when you subscribe to **%1$s**.”/string
  • string name=”xbox_game_pass_promotion_account_credit_button”Redeem/string

  • string name=”xbox_game_pass_promotion_account_credit_confirm_title”Nice!/string
  • string name=”xbox_game_pass_promotion_account_credit_title”Subscription Credit/string

The particulars aren’t too clear, though according to the data strings, only new subscribers will be eligible to snag a Discord Nitro promotion. Unfortunately this suggests that current Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be left out in the cold. Either way, this looks like an interesting offer, and it’ll be interesting to see if Sony tries to offer something similar in return.
