Check Out The Original Xbox Running On A Nintendo Switch (VIDEO)
There used to be some pretty hard set lines dividing video game consoles back in the day. Gamers for the most part had one console or the other, and as such were only privy to said console’s library of games. Naturally, with the advent of the internet these lines have broken down, even moreso now that crossplay is becoming even more common publishers. Now, one YouTuber has gone the distance and done something that can almost be considered sacrilegious: getting the original Xbox to run on the Nintendo Switch.
YouTuber Voxel9 recently posted a video on their channel showcasing the XQEMU emulator, which is being used to get original Xbox games to run on, of all things, a Nintendo Switch. Testing a few things out during the video, the user starts by booting up the Xbox’s hard drive menu, followed by a quick controller test before diving right into the original Halo, finishing the video off with a clip of Jet Set Radio Future. Check it out below:
For those curious, the user revealed that they were playing the games shown in the video using a PS4 controller, because why cross the streams once when you can do it twice? There was apparently a reason for this, however, as apparently joy-cons connected as a pair won’t show up on the emulator. Still, overall this is extremely impressive. Halo runs like garbage, apparently, though overall it’s a pretty cool thing to see. I only have one question…can it run Skyrim?
So, thoughts on the emulator? Have you ever done anything outrageous like this before? Let us know in the comments section below, and as always, stay tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers for all the latest gaming and entertainment news! Don’t forget to follow DFTG on Twitter for our 24/7 news feed!
