The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is Getting Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro Support

CD Projekt RED’s (CDPR) The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is one of the most awarded games in history. The game’s rich story, immersive in-game world, impactful decision making, deep character building, and gorgeous graphics have earned the base game and its two expansions countless awards. With a boost in resolution quality with PlayStation 4 Pro and the recently announced Xbox One X, the only thing that could make the console version of this worldwide success even better would be 4K support, and CDPR plans to do just that.

Originally, CDPR was not planning to work on a patch when the PS4 Pro launched due to the team’s dedicated focus on their highly anticipated game Cyberpunk 2077With Microsoft’s E3 announcement of the Xbox One X, it seems that the developers have decided to go ahead with an enhancement patch. Not much information has been given, other than a confirmation from a CDPR representative:

“I can confirm that we are working both on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro patches for The Witcher 3. No extra details at this moment. More info is coming.”

Witcher III Geralt

Witcher III: Wild Hunt is already a gorgeous game on consoles running at 1080p, but with the latest technology in resolution, console witchers are about to potentially experience an even more vibrant world. PC gamers already have the advantage, but with the latest updates to Sony and Microsoft’s consoles, fans have been wanting the award winning game to get the enhancement it deserves. I mean, who doesn’t want to watch the unicorn scene in 4K?

Witcher III: Wild Hunt is currently available on Windows 10 PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. There is also a Game of the Year edition that includes all DLC and expansions. PC players can pick it up pretty cheap during Steam’s Summer Sale.
