First Title in Vampire: The Masquerade Series in a Decade Officially Released! (VIDEO)
Vampire: The Masquerade has been taking up space on tabletops since 1991. The role-playing title turned to video games in 2000 with Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption, and again in 2004 with the indirect sequel Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. Since then, things have been relatively quiet from White Wolf Publishing. That is, until February 16 of this year when they dropped this tweet:

Being the first game in the series in a decade, Vampire The Masquerade: We Eat Blood And All Our Friends Are Dead stays true to its predecessors with its dark themes. A statement reads, ““In Vampire The Masquerade: We Eat Blood you’re a young artist who wakes up at night to find you’re no longer human. Told entirely through an innovative mobile messaging perspective, We Eat Blood is a sharp, mature, and terrifying story about your first nights as unwilling predator and prey.”
We Eat Blood is written and illustrated by Zak Sabbath and Sarah Horrocks. It is a single player RPG that plays out as interactive fiction. You can check out a short teaser for the game below:

The second game to be released by White Wolf Publishing is Mage The Ascension: Refuge. You will take on the role of a volunteer during the Syrian refugee crisis who, all of a sudden, becomes aware that magic is real. The Steam description offers us this:
Set in modern-day Sweden, Mage: The Ascension: Refuge by critically-acclaimed author Karin Tidbeck, lets you experience today’s social and political upheavals while awakening to the power of True Magick – the ability to shape reality itself through your force of belief. Many will try to recruit you into a secret war where human consensus itself is the battlefield. Your actions and choices will have profound consequences on the world and people around you… assuming madness and paradox doesn’t claim you first.”
Refuge is written by Karin Tidbeck and is also an interactive fiction single player RPG. The more topical of the two titles has a teaser that you can view below:

Both We Eat Blood and Refuge are part of the World of Darkness Preludes which can be purchased as a dual-pack on Steam($9.99) for PC, or individually for $4.99 each on Android and iOS. White Wolf went with preludes because they felt it would set the right amount of expectations, and they didn’t want fans waiting any longer than they already have been. In a blog post, they say:
So yeah, this is it. The wait is over. The Preludes mark the beginning of the end of silence and teasing hints. From here on out we invite you to explore the darkest aspects of our world with us.
Be warned, it’s a fucked-up and ugly place. But it’s ok. Because in this story, you will become the monster!”
