Trials Of Mana Gameplay Trailer Highlights New Features (VIDEO)
With a vast library of games from several decades to tap into, remakes of classic video games have been quite a common trend during this current gaming generation. Beloved franchises like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon have seen their most famous games re-released with a brand new coat of modern graphical paint. One such confirmed remake has been the Trials of Mana remake, which will see Square Enix reimagine their classic RPG. Now, Square Enix has released a new Trials of Mana gameplay trailer that showcases the new features included with this remake of the beloved game.
Square Enix recently released their new Trials of Mana gameplay trailer on their official YouTube channel. In a surprising twist, this English version of the trailer has arrived first, without a Japanese version, ironic considering that the first Mana game released in Japan only. The trailer confirms the game’s original structure of choosing from six original characters as the player’s chosen playable protagonist and two party members, with these selections having an effect on how the story and plot elements progress. Also seen are familiar locations like the Mana Tree, and elements like the Mana Stones.
The Trials of Mana gameplay trailer also highlights some of the new features added to the remake not found in the original version of the game. These include the ability to change a character’s class mid-game, and powerful chain abilities that allow combinations of characters to collaborate on an attack together. Also confirmed is the ability to switch between the new orchestral version of the soundtrack or the original version from the 16-bit era. It certainly seems that a lot of care went into this remake, and hopefully fans will consider it to be Mana from heaven when it finally arrives on April 24th.
