The Outer Worlds Ending Will “Drastically” Be Impacted By Player Choice

The Outer Worlds

While we still don’t know when Obsidian Entertainment plans on releasing their next big RPG, the developers have been unveiling a plethora of information over recent months. That said, the lead designer recently spoke about the ending that players of The Outer Worlds will encounter and how it will be “drastically” impacted by the choices they make during their journey.

Speaking with DualShockers, lead designer Charles Staples discussed how the ending of the upcoming RPG will be through slides, a practice the genre is accustomed to. While player choice is often considered when it comes to the ending of an RPG, The Outer Worlds’ finale will be “drastically different” based on these choices. “We are ending the game with end slides that say this is the outcome of the game based on your choices and actions,” Staples said. “Based off of different things that you’ve done, it will have drastically different effects.”

It’s always good to know when the player’s choices will affect the outcome of a game, and it looks like The Outer Worlds will be no different. Here’s to hoping we learn when the game will be arriving in the relatively near future. For more on the upcoming title from Obsidian:

“Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon colony. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.”

The Outer Worlds is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
