The Oddworld: Collection Coming To Nintendo Switch Next Month
Oddworld Inhabitants, Inc. launches Oddworld: Soulstorm this week! We’ll see Abe front-and-center once again and, this time, the reluctant hero leads a fight for freedom against the Magog Cartel. That’s not the only surprise that awaits fans of the franchise. There’s a collection coming to Nintendo Switch owners in May — Oddworld: Collection. Thankfully, it’s not an April Fool’s joke.

Announced on April 1st, Microids announced a trio of Oddworlds games on a single cartridge — New’n’Tasty, Munch’s Oddysee, and Stranger’s Wrath. Despite the unusual timing, publisher Microids confirmed the news on Twitter:
Not a joke :p

Not a joke!!

Was the timing a little unusual? Yes. Yes, it was, but it’s certainly a pleasant surprise! Seeing as it was already April 2nd in France by the time the news was announced, it likely didn’t even cross their mind!
The Oddworld: Collection is a physical release, which includes the three aforementioned titles in a single Nintendo Switch cartridge. Unfortunately, Microids and company don’t plan on releasing this collection for other platforms, and it won’t feature limited edition goodies either. Those who are simply looking to add a unique bundle of their favorite Oddworld games might find this as a neat collectible!
Want more information on the trio of games? Check out the synopsis for each title below:
New ‘n’ Tasty
Explore ancient ruins, dodge carnivorous beasts and avoid trigger-happy guards as Abe, the original Oddworld hero in this lovingly recrafted, built from the ground-up and totally recooked take on the classic adventure Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee.
Munch’s Oddysee
It’s up to you to help guide Munch in efforts to rescue fellow test creatures. These critters will be forever loyal to Munch and in turn enable his escape . Once free, Munch teams up with Abe and together they are guided by the wisdom of the Almighty Raisin. They are informed as to how to accomplish their goals, but in order to do so, they must work together. For Munch, his dream is to bring back his species from the brink of extinction. For Abe, it is to rescue his Mudokon buddies.
Stranger’s Wrath
Tall, dark, and passive-aggressive, a Stranger is lured out of routine bounty hunting by the prospect of a one time, bounty-to-end-all bounties moolah maker. He’s got a short but pricey personal shopping list and he’s finally found a way to check it off. With his moolah on his mind, our Stranger travels from town to town facing off with mentally challenged Outlaws, violently ignorant Clakkerz, and paranoid, relic-hiding native Grubbs. Welcome to the Mongo River Valley, the irony mining capital of the continent.
Oddworld: Collection releases May 27th for the Nintendo Switch.
