New Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Fighter Reveal Coming This Week

Super Smash Bros Ultimate first released over a year ago, and the game has continued to captivate fighting game fans to this day. One way that the game has managed to keep interest high is by sporadically releasing new DLC throughout the past year. The most significant additions brought through DLC has been the new fighters for the game, which have included Persona 5’s Joker, Banjo-Kazooie and the hero from Dragon Quest. It’s been a few months since the last new fighter, Terry from Fatal Fury, but it seems that a new Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC fighter will be announced later this week.

Nintendo announced on their official Nintendo VS Twitter account that a new Super Smash Bros Ultimate-focused Nintendo Direct livestream presentation will be coming later this week on Thursday, January 16th at 6 PM PT. The 35-minute video will feature Super Smash Bros creator Masahiro Sakurai, and has confirmed that the next DLC fighter will be announced during the presentation.

This would be the fifth new DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and thus the last fighter that will be given to purchasers of the Fighters Pass for the game. Given the length of the presentation, the video will likely discuss other new inclusions for the game, as well as the future of the game. This may include the possibility of more fighters beyond the fighters  pass. Still, this is an exciting time for Super Smash Bros Ultimate players looking for one last newcomer to join the ultimate fight.
