Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Super Mario Odyssey Release Dates Leak Before Nintendo Spotlight at E3
Though it may not be the biggest possible leak of E3, there is still some significance in having the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Super Mario Odyssey release dates leak just days before the Nintendo Spotlight E3 Presentation. Fans of those two titles might be excited (or let down) by the rumored dates. The information comes from a GameStop source through GoNintendo.
According to the source, the Super Mario Odyssey release date is set for Nintendo Switch on November 17th. Nintendo had already announced a “2017 holiday” release, and this date would coincide with that. Ultimately, as with all rumors, we will have to wait for the presentation to see if this leak holds any water.
The game is the first sandbox-style title to release in the Mario franchise since Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 64. The game will be available to play at E3 for all in attendance during the course of the show. While not set until Tuesday, the Nintendo Spotlight presentation will settle whether or not the Super Mario Odyssey release date leak is true.
Also included with the Super Mario Odyssey release date leak was information concerning Xenoblade Chronicles 2. According to the source, the game has been delayed until February 2018 which puts it outside the 2017 release date originally slated for the game. This title is also expected to be discussed at the presentation, so time will tell on this rumor also.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is expected to follow the original game directly. Monolith Software announced the game for the Nintendo Switch this past January. According to the developer, a new hero will seek out Elysium in a journey through an immense new world.
The Nintendo Spotlight presentation for E3 2017 will air its prerecorded video at 9 am PT/ 12 pm ET. The Spotlight is expected to feature these games, along with new details concerning the Nintendo Switch and titles launching this year. Be sure and check in with DFTG as we follow this story to see what’s what with Nintendo.
