Super Mario Brothers Hololens Adaption Played in Central Park (VIDEO)
Many minds were blown by the introduction of the Hololens in 2016 when demonstrators showed it off with Minecraft on a table top. Since then the gaming headset, designed to bring games into a 3D augmented reality where players can experience games within their own homes, has had limited consumer release. One fan got their hands on one and has been using it to create a Super Mario Brothers Hololens adaption that will make the kid in all of us say “Me next! Me next!”
The first level of the original iconic NES game was built by Abhishek Singh. He generated a 3D version of the game that he then demonstrated in Central Park. His Super Mario Brothers Hololens adaption is an amazing new look at the classic Level 1-1. Check it out in the video below!
To add to the demonstration, Singh donned his Super Mario get up and played through a large bike path in New York City’s Central Park. The video shows a first person and side scroll view of the game in which we can see how he looks without all the Mario goodness around. The humor of it aside, this Super Mario Brothers Hololens adaption may be a solid step in getting the headset off the ground as new ways of using the technology for gaming are considered.
Singh’s video documents the first time someone has created a first person version of Mario’s adventures for the headset. Super Mario Brothers Hololens adaption is a testament to what can be accomplished with the technology, and while it is still out of reach for many, its use will surely generate more potential that will drop the price eventually.
