Mysterious Sega Countdown Website Appears – What Exactly Are They Teasing?

Sega Countdown

It would appear that something interesting is coming out of the house that Sonic built. A mysterious Sega countdown website recently popped up, with the timer set to expire on Friday, January 19 at 3pm JST. With the fantasy imagery provided on the page, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what sort of reveal lies ahead, but there may be a clue or two hiding about.

Interestingly enough, the word “senki” appears in the URL for the Sega countdown website. This could very well be in reference to Bahamut Senki, a tactical role-playing game developed and published by Sega in 1991. It’s also worth noting that the announcement is listed under “Arcade Game” on the company’s official website. Luckily, the wait isn’t too long until all is unveiled.

Of course, the vague countdown isn’t the only thing being teased by Sega this week. The above tweet was the second of its kind to be released on the company’s Twitter, alluding to a surprise unveiling set for today, January 16. With the Two Point Studios logo now a part of the mix, it is likely that the incoming announcement is the new game that was teased by the studio back in November of last year.

There’s no word as to whether or not these two reveals are related, but with Two Point focusing on sim games and the mysterious countdown alluding to something more fantasy themed, there is a strong possibility that they will be two separate entities.
