Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Version Leaked
The first Red Dead Redemption famously never came to PC. The game was one of Rockstar’s most well-received titles and its sequel arguably the most anticipated release of the year. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be coming out on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 next week, and PC players are worried they’ll get excluded from some rootin’ tootin’ cowboy shootin’ for the second time. Well, there may be some good news as there is a bit of evidence to that almost confirms that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be coming to PC.
About 4 months ago, an anonymous Rockstar Leeds employee listed on their LinkedIn profile that they had worked on the Red Dead project. Not only that, but the employee listed the platforms as “PS4/Xbox1/PC”.
While this was a hot news item, there may have been no way to confirm it as sometimes a LinkedIn experience page is easy to fake if you aren’t making yourself particularly visible. That said, it wouldn’t be a surprise for Rockstar to heavily consider a PC version of Red Dead 2. Given the immense outcry of players wanting to play the first game on their high-end PCs, it’s a very bankable audience.
That isn’t the only easter eggs sleuths scouring the web could find. The folks over at TechTastic discovered a retail posting for Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC version on MediaMarkt. The site is Europe’s largest consumer electronics retailer, so this has a big chance of being accurate.
This wouldn’t be the first time a retailer spoiled the announcements of some games either. Darksiders III was leaked in an Amazon posting and Walmart famously screwed up when it revealed a large number of unannounced games like Just Cause 4, Gears of War 5, Forza Horizon 4, Rage 2, and many more. But hey, whether the surprise is spoiled or not, it’s nice to know cool stuff like this is coming right?
