PUBG Savage Map Returns To Testing Servers Next Week
The PUBG Savage map that had its first testing run earlier this month changes up the normal battle royale formula that we’ve all come to know and love. Instead of a plane-load of people parachuting down onto a huge expansive map, players are instead funneled into a 4×4 grid, where the action is much more frequent and rounds tend to wrap up a lot faster. With the first round of testing having successfully been concluded on April 5th, PUBG Corp has announced a second round of testing that begins next week.
The signup website for the next round of PUBG Savage map testing opens up again on Saturday April 14, with the actual round of testing beginning on April 16. It is also recommended that those interested follow PUBG on Facebook and Twitter, as more codes may get shared via social media. Here’s the full date range:
Signup Website:
- OPENS: Sat, April 14, 5am PDT / April 14, 2pm CEST / April 14, 9pm KST
- CLOSES: Tues, April 17, 5am PDT / April 17, 2pm CEST / April 17, 9pm KST
Codename: Savage on the Closed Experimental Server:
- OPENS: Mon, April 16, 6pm PDT / Tues, April 17, 3am CEST / April 17, 10am KST
- CLOSES: Wed, April 18, 6pm PDT / Thur, April 19, 3am CEST / April 19, 10am KST
The PUBG devs learned a lot from the first round of testing, and they revealed in a blog post the changes coming to the map based on “early feedback.” Here are the changes:
- Increased the item and weapon spawn rates inside residential buildings and small cabins to improve the looting experience along the outskirts of the map.
- The first blue zone circle will show up right at the beginning of the match so players can plan their strategy before parachuting.
- Blue zone time adjusted to speed up gameplay during the first phase of the match.
- Red zone frequency has been lowered
- There are now fewer explosions inside each red zone. The size of the red zone remains the same.
- Vans now spawn less often. The two-wheeled motorcycle spawns more often. Motorbikes with sidecars have been removed from Codename: Savage.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now available for PC and Xbox One.
