Power Rangers Inspired ‘Chroma Squad’ Coming to Consoles – PS Vita Port Abandoned (VIDEO)
There’s a new crime-fighting team on the rise! The Power Rangers inspired RPG Chroma Squad has only been available on Steam for almost two years, and now that looks to change. Bandai Namco announced in a press release that the game will make its way to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in May 2017. In the same announcement, it was revealed that a PlayStation Vita port of the game would no longer be pursued, with the publisher shifting focusing towards the upcoming console release instead.
In Chroma Squad, the player takes on the role of five stunt actors that start their own superhero team-up television program. Players, from a behind-the-scenes perspective, must purchase film equipment, build weapons, and stage battles with dastardly monsters, with the goal of making their action-packed show a silver screen hit. A trailer released upon the game’s original release shows off a colorfully pixel-heavy style sure to be appreciated by retro gaming aficionados.
Chroma Squad started out as a Kickstarter campaign back in 2013 by independent Brazilian studio Behold and quickly reached their goal of $55,000 within a month. Those who wish to check it out before it releases on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can currently get it for $15 on Steam.
