PlayStation Now Adds Mortal Kombat 11, FFXII: The Zodiac Age, And More
As the console wars wage on, major video game companies are utilizing their digital services for the long-term benefit of their platforms. While Xbox is finding much success through the use of their Game Pass subscription service, Sony’s PlayStation Now has proven valuable to subscribers for the better part of a decade now. The service has continued to add new games on a regular basis, having included quality titles like Injustice 2 in the past. Now, Sony has unveiled the PlayStation Now games for January 2022, which will include another beloved fighting game.

Sony recently updated its official PlayStation Blog with the latest additions for the game streaming service. The biggest gem in this new round of additions is Mortal Kombat 11. The NetherRealm game proved to be quite a successful evolution of the series while simultaneously paying tribute to the series’s past and endearing it in the hearts of its fans. It should be noted that the version available appears to be the regular PS4 version, not the upgraded Ultimate edition for PS5.
This month’s other momentous addition is Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. This HD remaster of the 2006 PS2 game has been enjoyed by modern console users for a few years now, and this might be the perfect time for PS Now subscribers to try it out. Among the newest PlayStation Now titles are two 2D roguelike shoot-em-ups Fury Unleashed and Super Time Force Ultra; Unturned, a Minecraft-looking zombie sandbox game; and Kerbal Space Program, a cosmic simulation game. PlayStation Now has built a sizeable library for itself, but it’s good to see that it has no signs of stopping its expansion any time soon.
