After years of waiting, we’ve received confirmation that The Last Guardian is finally completed and we can begin the countdown until release! Following a long, developmental nightmare that kept pushing the game back and dampening the hopes of Shadow of the Colossus fans everywhere, confirmation of the game’s completion has been given to us by none other than Sony President of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, himself:

Originally announced at 2009’s E3, The Last Guardian has been a highly anticipated title for PlayStation fans everywhere, keeping our breaths bated for this gorgeous game. Unfortunately, development issues kept the game from releasing any sooner, struggling through several years of anticipation before it finally received a release date of October 25th. Back in September, Yoshida himself had announced that the game’s October release would be pushed back until December 6th to ensure that any bugs in the game would be taken care of before it was launched to the public. This action was taken to ensure a smooth release and an enjoyable game play experience for everyone.

The announcement of production’s end comes hot on the heels of Rockstar’s announcement of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2, making fans even more excited get a chance to add to their gaming collections. It’s looking like we’ll have to wait a little while longer to get our hands on this exciting new Sony addition, but never fear: the end of the long wait is nigh!
