Persona 5 Delayed Yet Again

We haven’t seen a persona game come to a PlayStation console since the PS2 and as it turns out, we’ll have to wait a little bit longer before we do. Persona 5 is facing yet another delay, this time pushed back to April 4th of 2017.

Persona 5 has had a pretty bumpy ride to completion, first announced in 2013, but the games have such a dedicated following both in the United States and around the world, that it eventually pushed it’s way through to existence. The game was initially slated to hit stores in 2014, which then became 2016, and now of course, the U.S. release is pegged for 2017.

If you really want to play it now, and you can speak Japanese, the Japan release was September of this year or you can catch it in English at the 2016 PlayStation Experience in December. The developer, Atlus, said of the English version that they “don’t want to rush the game” which after four plus years of development, probably shouldn’t be a concern.

Persona 5 is coming exclusively to Sony consoles, but if you’ve hung on to your old PS3, you’ll still get to play it on the legacy console. Additionally, you can pick up the Take Your Heart special edition if you’re a major fan of the series.

Vent your frustrations with the, (supposedly final) delay of Persona 5 in the comments below, and stick with us here at DFTG for further announcements related to the game.
