Outriders Seemingly Teased For Xbox Game Pass (VIDEO)
Quite a few games have been making their way to Xbox Game Pass as of late, with Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Bethesda yielding 20 additional titles on the premier game subscription service. With that said, the Xbox brand has shown no signs of letting up anytime soon, with a recent tease seemingly suggesting another hype-worthy game may also be added to Game Pass in the near future in the form of Square Enix’s upcoming co-op RPG Outriders.
The tease went live on social media this past Friday, with the Xbox Game Pass Twitter account dropping a humous hint about its next big announcement. Showing off yet another “leaked” email from Melissa McGamepass, Microsoft’s fabled “Executive Senior VP Lieutenant of General Video Game Communications,” the post didn’t exactly take itself seriously. However, the tease contained a few cheeky references to a “new game” coming to Xbox Game Pass, citing a “mysterious signal appearing in the distance” as well as an “anomaly.”

Those who may be familiar with Outriders’ post-apocalyptic lore are likely to draw a certain conclusion from this new tease. Players in the co-op RPG are tasked with venturing across the hostile alien planet of Enoch, with the game’s story involving the pursuit of a so-called “mysterious signal” responsible for the world’s fall into chaos as well as the players’ enhanced abilities. What happens to be the specific name for this destruction? Well, The Anomaly, of course!
The first recorded Anomaly Storm manifestation was on landing day, when the Outriders, tasked with securing the landing area, wandered right into one of the Anomaly’s storms. Very few escaped. #Outriders pic.twitter.com/AhrMVlfX1V

All things considered, it appears we may be able to expect Outriders on Xbox Game Pass in the near future, which is definitely an exciting notion in the days leading up to launch. Not only might this occasion see Xbox users greeted with a platform-specific perk, but the sci-fi RPG will also finally see a concrete release date after being significantly delayed on a repeat basis. However, with a new playable demo out and Square Enix’s recent unveiling of PC requirements, perhaps the release won’t turn out to be an April Fool’s prank.
Outriders releases for PC, Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on April 1st.
What do you think? Are you excited to see Outriders potentially added to Xbox Game Pass, or do you feel that Ms. McGamepass was in-fact teasing a completely different game?
