If you’re a fan of EA’s hottest title this year, you might have noticed that any online gameplay might have gone off the grid today. That’s because the long anticipated Battlefield 1 Fall Update has finally begun rolling out across platforms, and EA has claimed some major changes are in store for this season’s war-time shooter.
Yesterday, the official Battlefield 1 Twitter sent out an announcement, warning gamers that online mode will be offline throughout the day as the update is installed across the globe, before the updates started going live this morning.

This update is absolutely huge. With changes affecting maps, weapons and even bug fixes, the developers have gone all out, focusing on giving players just the right amount of tweaks to ensure the gaming mechanics are primed and ready for attack.
Going forward we are addressing the balance issues with the Operations game mode. It’s clear that attackers need a boost. To increase the effectiveness of the attacking team, we are increasing the overall tickets for both Operations & Grand Operations. In addition, we are also making it somewhat easier to capture sectors as an attacker by reducing the amount of time it takes to capture a flags in Operations & Grand Operations. We’ve also increased the minimum tickets regained in grand operations to from 30 to 50, as well as increased the amount of tickets regained from killing retreating defenders. This will give more of a fighting chance to capture the next sector after previously capturing a sector while having very few tickets left. ~ General Operations Changes
According to the official Battlefield Forum, the update is set for all platforms, though some minor differences might be noted depending on which console you’re playing on. You can see the entire list of changes on the forum’s latest posting, though a few notable differences in the Battlefield 1 Fall Update include:
- Maps
- UI
- Weapons and Gadget Balance
- Bug fixes for weapons and gadgets
- Server fixes
- and Campaign fixes
It’s going to be a grand time for gamers as many of their reported issues and suggestions were taken into consideration. However, we’re all really hoping that the terrifying as hell Column of Fire glitch hasn’t been removed from the game, because who doesn’t love a raging blimp-nado of fire and brimstone to cap off their gameplay experience?
What do you guys think of this update? Have you had a chance to experience the latest and greatest from the creative minds of EA’s development team today? Give us a shoutout in the comments below, and game on!
