No Man’s Sky Gets New Desolation Update And It Is Terrifying (VIDEO)
There aren’t as many comeback stories as promising or as successful as that of Hello Games‘ No Man’s Sky. Upon launch, the title received a plethora of backlash due to the lack of features that were once promised, but that didn’t stop the developers from working as hard as they could to bring it back to life, which they have more than achieved. That said, the game’s latest update, Desolation, brings a bit of horror to the mix and it is downright terrifying.
Much like other updates before it, Desolation brings a myriad of balance changes and improvements to the game. However, that is not the biggest thing to arrive with the new No Man’s Sky update as it has also added a new type of environment for players to explore: derelict freighters in deep space. As one might imagine, these ships are not the most welcoming to guests.
“Mysterious derelict freighters have been sighted in deep space,” reads the PlayStation Blog post from Hello Games founder Sean Murray. “Alone or in groups, players can breach the emergency airlock and explore the hazardous, procedurally generated, interiors. These vessels are rich with salvage and story for any bold traveller brave enough to retrieve them, including otherwise unobtainable upgrades for your own capital ship.”
What truly makes these freighters terrifying is the fact that the you know what hits the fan when a player arrives and ultimately attempts to leave. In addition to this, some freighters just might be overrun by hostile aliens, so that could be a bundle of joy. Needless to say, No Man’s Sky just got a little bit scarier.
