Nintendo has announced that they will be live streaming the event live from Tokyo, Japan starting on January 12, 2017 at 8 p.m. PST. You can catch the live stream directly from their very own website. The gaming company is expected to give further details on the new console such as a firm release date, launch titles, price points, and more. On January 13, following the “Tokyo Webcast,” a five hour long event will be held in New York City, NY. The event will be held to further explain details of the Switch as well as give attendees some hands on time with the new hardware.
The reveal trailer for the new system shows a console that can be played on your televisions at home, as well as on the go. Instead of game disks, it looks like Nintendo is sticking with cartridges and, more than likely, digital libraries. No official word has been give if there will be any backwards compatibility peripherals, but we can hope.
We here at DFTG will be keeping a close eye on the live stream to give you all the information Nintendo has in store. Are you excited for the next console coming from the creators of Mario? What do you think of the at home and on-the-go capabilities? Let us know in the comments section below and keep your browsers locked here so you don’t miss anything coming from the Nintendo Switch Presentation.
