New Sledgehammer Games Studio Head Shares Heartfelt Fan Letter

Sledgehammer Games studio head

The team who developed Call of Duty: WWII had a changing of the guard recently as Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield stepped down as directors and studio heads. This left a rather sizable hole in the company needing to be filled in order to keep the ball rolling for both business and the fans. The new Sledgehammer Games studio head, Aaron Halon, stepped in to fill the shoes and continue to guide the current franchise installment.

While the departure of Condrey and Schofield for executive positions with Activision may have confused some, Halon has taken action to clear the air. In a letter drafted to fans and employees, the new Sledgehammer Games studio head shared his thoughts and vision for the future. Check out the letter he wrote below:

Thank you from everyone here at Sledgehammer Games.

This is an incredible time for the studio. As Glen and Michael begin new chapters in their careers, I’m humbled by the opportunity to lead this amazing team of developers. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats here at the studio, which has allowed me to work side by side with some of the best talent in the business.

As a Call of Duty development studio, we have always been grateful for the chance to make games for the greatest fans in the world. Simply put, there’s nothing else like the Call of Duty community, and I’m committed to staying focused on our fans as we continue to support Call of Duty: WWII well into the future. You are our inspiration and our motivation.

I thank Glen and Michael for their support, and their mentorship along the way. As great as our history has been at Sledgehammer Games, I feel we can go even higher, and that our best days are yet to come. Thank you.

Yours truly,

Aaron Halon”

The new Sledgehammer Games studio head and the talented team are currently working on downloadable content for CoD: WWII. It is also likely that the studio will begin development on a new CoD game, which would likely come out in 2020. For those interested in checking out Call of Duty: WWII, it is available to play on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
