New The Gifted Trailer Reveals the Hardships of Living as Mutants Without Guidance (VIDEO)
A brand new The Gifted trailer shown at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 reveals the harsh reality of the X-Men world, filled with fear-mongering propaganda and hate for the unfamiliar. The video starts out by highlighting the beginnings of pair of teenage siblings – Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) and Andy Strucker (Percy Hynes White). The brother, discovering his powers for the first time in a most unfortunate incident at school, leads to the destruction of property. His sister swoops in to save the day, but family secrets and make their way out of the wood works. Check out the video for yourself below:
In order to find some semblance of guidance and direction, the Strucker family seeks help from a ragtag group of mutants – Clarice Ferguson (Jamie Chung), Lorna Dane (Emma Dumont), Marco Diaz (Sean Teale), and John Proudstar (Balir Redford). They are all young adults trying to find their own way in the society that loathes them. Without an idea of where the Brotherhood or X-Men are, their goals are to survive day by day while thinking up ways to find a safe haven.
The trailer features each of the their powers with Polaris’ magnetic abilities, Blink honing her skills, Thunderbird’s elevated senses, and Eclipse’s photon manipulation. There is a subtle Marvel reference toward the end as well. What do you think of the latest The Gifted trailer?
