Mortal Kombat 11 Could Feature Spawn, Teases Creator Todd McFarlane
Fans were excited to see Mortal Kombat 11 officially revealed at The Game Awards last week. The trailer shown highlighted the carnage that is to come, and players have been left wanting more. While the game may still be months away, many are now wondering what’s next.
Well, if Todd McFarlane’s recent tease is accurate, we just might be seeing Spawn included with the Mortal Kombat 11 roster. Really, it sounds like a perfect match. McFarlane’s beloved character has quite the violent streak, and given the bloodshed that was on full display in the announcement trailer, Spawn would be a perfect addition to the title.
Taking to Reddit, McFarlane hosted an AMA where he was asked if Spawn would be added as a combatant in Mortal Kombat 11. “I believe he’s on his way…,” he replied. Sure, this is no confirmation of the character’s appearance in the upcoming game, but we sure do hope something comes of it.
This, of course, wouldn’t be the first time an outside character was featured in an installment in the franchise. Mortal Kombat X had DLC that brought a Xenomorph, Predator, Jason Vorheess, and Leatherface to the game. Seeing as Spawn is getting his own film once more, this just might be the perfect time for him to make his debut against the likes of Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Lord Raiden, and much more.
Mortal Kombat 11 is set to arrive on April 23, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
