Mortal Kombat 11 Joker Trailer Teased With New Screenshot

For months now, NetherRealm Studios has been delivering a pretty steady batch of content for Mortal Kombat 11, with the developer only taking a break for this past Holiday season. As January 2020 enters full swing, as does the game’s Creative Director Ed Boon and his notorious teases on social media. One recent post from the series’ co-creator has teased the release of a new trailer for the game’s next DLC character–DC’s clown prince of crime, The Joker.

Posting to his official Twitter account, Boon teased the reveal of a new Joker gameplay trailer would be “koming soon.” The tweet also shared a gruesome look at MK11’s next Kombat Pack fighter, it depicting Joker smiling over a bloodied victim alongside the phrase “bloody good time” in hashtag form. Check it out below.

The addition of Joker has been several months in the making, with the character’s introduction and subsequent showcase at The Game Awards indicating an update on the character’s design. The character now sports an appearance seemingly inspired by the Batman Arkham Joker and the Heath Ledger iteration from The Dark Knight.

With the comic villain’s gameplay reveal now assured, one Twitter user was curious about whether a tease from fellow comic character and future DLC Spawn may also be in the cards. However, Boon suggested that this debuting footage will be all about the clown, replying to the fan’s query with a simple “nope.”

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Joker arrives on the Kombat Pack January 28th and as a standalone DLC on February 4th.

What do you think? Are you excited about what Joker’s crazy moves will be for Mortal Kombat 11? Would it have been better to feature the Joaquin Phoenix Joker instead?
