Mass Effect: Andromeda’s First of Many Patches Now Live – Texture and Eye Fixes Galore!

Even before the game’s release, players were trying out the 10 hour demo available to those with EA or Origin Access. The biggest complaint pertained to the poor facial animations and expressions for some characters, soulless eyes, and glitches which were especially present in the early hours of the game. Just a couple days ago, the BioWare blog announced that patch 1.05 will be rolling out today, to address the complaints most received. Only a couple weeks after the game’s release, the developing team has been hard at work addressing as many of the issues as possible. Foster Addison, also known as “sorry, my face is tired lady” was made a prime example of critique against the title. Fortunately for all, the patch finally puts many of the gripes to rest. Not only do players get to skip autopilot scenes, but there are several balance changes and texture overhauls to hair and skin, eye fixes, increased inventory, more fluid conversations, multiplayer, and better romance options for Scott Ryder. The detailed patch notes can be read here.

Curious to see some early comparisons of the changes? Reddit users have stockpiled a multitude of photos for an easy compare and contrast. Let’s just say they are looking much, much better and the expressions more human and easier to connect with. Take a look at just a few in the gallery below:

For more screenshots, check out the Mass Effect: Andromed’a Reddit forum here! There are other additions to the patch, as well. For example, in a separate Reddit post, Cora and Liam now have casual outfits with blue and white color schemes. It’s remains unclear whether the other crew members have received something similar. Of course, this is only one of the many patches players will be seeing in the coming days and months and there are no plans on giving up. After all, this is one of the most anticipated titles of 2017.

Since launch, our team has been poring over your comments and feedback, looking to discover what you like about the game, as well as areas we can evolve or improve.” – Aaryn Flynn
