Deck Nine has released a full-length Life is Strange: Before the Storm launch trailer, which fleshes out a few more details before the game’s release next week. Fans have been chomping at the bit since its announcement at E3 and trasers, including gameplay footage, have been steadily trickling out since. This trailer may be the last of it before the first episode is open to play, so check it out below:

As seen in the Before the Storm launch trailer, fans will take a trip back in time to when Chloe Price met Rachael Amber. For those who are unaware, these characters both played major roles in the original game, Life is Strange. This prequel is giving fans a peek into a part of the story that has been shrouded in mystery until now.

We join Chloe in the Before the Storm launch trailer at a time in her life when things were tumultuous at best. Life at home was difficuly, Chloe’s best friend was gone, and her father had died a few years prior. It is obvious she is lost, angry, sad, and lonely. Enter Rachael Amber, a character who came to mean a lot to Chloe in the last game with fans given a chance to find out exactly what happened between them.

Episode one will be released August 31st on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. The game is also available for pre-order with bonus content that includes a special episode where players get to be Max Caulfield one last time.
