Hilarious Legend Of Zelda Parody Pits Link Against The Shrub Of Destiny (VIDEO)

Link has enjoyed a long run that appears to not be stopping anytime soon. With the recent release of Breath of the Wild, the franchise stepped into a new era of complete open-world goodness. Times were not always like this for our plucky hero, however, and a Legend of Zelda parody illustrates just that point.

The Legend of Zelda parody, titled The Shrub of Destiny, features what life would be like for 8-Bit Link in reality. Complete with sounds from the game and hilarious situations, we find him caught in what appears to be an endless loop.  Check out the video yourself below:

YouTuber Kurt Quinn created the video while on vacation in Rothenburg, Germany with his friend Scott Kruse. The town certainly looks as though it could be a place in Hyrule and definitely made the Legend of Zelda parody seem set in the beloved fictional world. Some flashy camera work adds to the overall appeal, reminding fans who have played the older games just how clunky they were.

The Shrub of Destiny is a brief tale that follows Link as he seeks out a villager trapped in a bush. But the adventure doesn’t stop there as he continues on to help others who are trapped, engage in glitchy battles, and then rise in the morning to do it all again. We find quickly that Link may well be in a Groundhogs Day scenario as he awakens to the same fate. All in all the Legend of Zelda parody was an enjoyable watch that is definitely worth your time.
