Cheeky Launch Trailer for ‘Styx: Shards of Darkness’ Pokes Fun at Assassin’s Creed (VIDEO)

Launch Trailer

If you played the first Styx game, Master of Shadows, you’ll know that the sneaky goblin is a real prick. He’s cheeky, sarcastic, and willing to break the fourth wall without hesitation. It would appear that this will be the case with the latest installment in the series as well as seen in the game’s launch trailer below:

As you can see in the launch trailer, nice is not a word to be used when referring to Styx. He’s a dick and he knows it. Expect a lot of references, puns, and sarcasm as Styx is a master of them all. For example, he even pokes a little fun at Assassins Creed:

My name is Styx, human. Yeah, I can talk. I may climb on roofs and scale walls, but you won’t catch me wearin’ a stupid white tabard with a hoodie

Even though he’s small and rude, he is also a master of stealth, obviously. Players will be able to use stealth and magic to eliminate enemies in a variety of ways. Unlike the last game, players will also be able to team up with a friend to take on the world with co-op play.

Lastly, the trailer while fun, introduces players to the story behind the game. Styx has taken a job to steal a scepter which holds a Quartz filled with magical power. What these Quartz shards do exactly is up in the air until the release of the title as well as how Styx will get his fill of Amber.
