“If you’re interested in stories with happy endings, that story is streaming elsewhere.” We can not wait for the new Netflix remake series of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events! Lucky for us, they have released a new trailer that leaves us wanting more!

This series is based on the classic children’s books by the same name and from what we can tell, it compliments the 2004 film while still keeping it fresh and original with a few changes. This show will stay true to the dreary, dark, and wonderful settings we know and love and we even get to see some of the crazy disguises that Neil Patrick Harris gets to wear in his role as Count Olaf. This trailer also goes into more depth about the relationship between the quirky and beautiful Baudelaire kids as they try to escape their evil distant relative Count Olaf, who is of course after their vast fortune. Here is the 2nd official trailer:

“Netflix politely asks you to look away. You were warned!” One obvious change that the trailer shows, is that he forces the children to work in a saw mill. My favorite line? “You have to understand that he had a very terrible childhood.” “We’re having a very terrible childhood right now.” I think that quote perfectly sums up the whole series. The first season of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events will only be 8 episodes long and it starts on January 13th. You best believe we’ll be binge watching them all in one day.
