Kingdom Hearts III DLC Announcement Met With Disappointment, Amazon Responds

Last weekend, the good folks over at Amazon had Kingdom Hearts III fans waiting in anticipation for what the company promised to be a brand new trailer for the game, as well as some exclusive DLC. When the time for the announcement finally arrived, fans were met with a shortened version of a previously released trailer (lame) and an exclusive Keyblade DLC for pre-ordering the game through Amazon (semi-lame). Fans were understandably upset of course, as the promised trailer was supposed to have revealed an as-yet unknown world that Sora and the gang would be exploring. Here are a few of the reactions:

As a direct result from the outpouring of fan feedback following the lackluster reveal, Amazon posted a response over on Twitter that…well, it basically made things even worse. The company responded with the following Tweet:

“Apologies, the Kh3 video featuring our awesome new, exclusive DLC has been consumed by Heartless and not available,” Amazon’s Tweet begins. “Learn what that DLC is, how ti get it exclusively from Amazon, and score a Twitch Prime bonus on Monday Nov. 26 around 1PM PST on….” So, not only did Amazon choose to mock the fan base, but then afterwards they went ahead and advertised themselves some more. Kingdom Hearts III fans were not amused.

Amazon has yet to issue anymore statements regarding the situation, so here’s hoping they’re coming up with some sort of solution to the outpouring of fan grievances following their poor showing on Monday. For those that are already looking for other outlets to pre-order Kingdom Hearts III, Sony is offering a midnight blue Keyblade for pre-ordering the game through the PlayStation Store.

Kingdom Hearts III arrives on January 29, 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
