‘Jay and Silent Bob Reboot’ to Begin Filming This Fall — Snoogins!

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot

There have been many iconic on-screen duos throughout the history of film. Batman and Robin, Tango and Cash, Tom Hanks and his volleyball Wilson, but no other duo quite measures up to the ridiculousness of Jay and Silent Bob from Kevin Smith‘s series of “View Askewniverse” movies. Sixteen years ago, Jay and Silent Bob went on a journey across America to stop a Hollywood movie production of their comic book counterparts, Bluntman and Chronic in the film Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. The notorious duo are headed back to the big screen in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.

Fans of writer, actor, director, and mega-nerd Kevin Smith are well aware of his social media presence. The king of nerds has taken to Twitter to announce that a Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is indeed happening and the “follow-up flick” will begin shooting this Fall. Snootchie bootchies!

Kevin Smith (Silent Bob) and Jason Mewes (Jay) are obviously making the return for the upcoming sequel, and anyone who has been a fan of Smith’s should expect a butt-load of cameos from some of Smith’s best friends and A-listers alike. No other cast members have been announced, but it’s safe to assume that Smith’s long time friends Walter Flanagan and Bryan Johnson will make a classic “tell ’em Steve Dave” appearance. Other likely cameos include Clerks’ Brian O’Halloran, Jason Lee, Ben Affleck, and Kevin’s own wife Jennifer Schwalbach Smith.

Earlier in the year, Kevin Smith described the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot as:

[A] fun flick in which the Jersey boys have to go back to Hollywood to stop a brand new reboot of the old ‘Bluntman & Chronic Movie’ they hated so much. It’s a tongue-in-cheek, silly-ass satire that pokes fun at the movie business’s recent re-do obsession, featuring an all-star cast of cameos and familiar faces!”

The news of a sequel to Strikes Back begs the question: Who in their right mind would watch another Jay and Silent Bob movie?

The movie has no official release date as of yet, but is expected to release some time in 2018. Are you ready for another ridiculous journey with Jay and Silent Bob?
