Injustice 2 Director Teases Fighter DLC, New Mortal Kombat Game
NetherRealm Studios boss and Injustice 2 director Ed Boon is known for his penchant for the art of trolling, so much so that it’s often difficult to separate when he’s playfully hinting at something, or just dropping a big joke on us. Even with the release of Injustice 2 Legendary Edition, the teases continue and this latest one suggests we may be getting a new Mortal Kombat game soon.
Posted via Twitter, the MK tease was delivered in response to a tweet hopeful for another round of Injustice 2 DLC. Of course, a simple answer would not do. Boon was instead interested in teasing what else would be “kool”, the spelling being a reference to the Mortal Kombat series’ love of the letter “K”.
You know what ELSE would be kool…..? https://t.co/KcJkm8HVyY

There’s a few ways we could take this, the first being a new Mortal Kombat game. We haven’t had a new entry in the violent fighting series for a few years, so we’re definitely overdue for some Fatalities. As Injustice 2 is arguably still as popular as ever, another way this tease could go is a Mortal Kombat themed DLC, which could introduce even more tournament members to the DC fighting game.
However, a likely scenario is that all of this is a big ol’ troll on the part of Ed Boon, as the Injustice 2 director would probably prefer to keep unannounced projects such as these under wraps for as long as possible, or at least until E3. Of course, that could be what he wants us to think! Tell us what you know, Boon!

What do you think? Could NetherRealm be working on Mortal Kombat 11 under our noses, or are you hopeful a new Fighter Pack could be on the way for Injustice 2? On a scale of 10 to 10, how evil is Ed Boon?
