Indie Horror Game Perception Gets a Trailer and a Release Date (VIDEO)

Perception

A new indie horror game is coming soon to console and PC, and the atmosphere for this title is nothing short of terrifying. Perception, which was announced officially for Xbox back in February, is being created by The Deep End Games, which promises a horrifying and surreal experience for gamers everywhere. With the announcement that the title will be released on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, Deep End Games has also revealed that the game will be launching on May 30th. Check out the trailer below to see this terrifying world coming soon:

Perception is a first-person narrative horror adventure that tells the story of Cassie, a blind heroine who uses her extraordinary hearing and razor-sharp wits to unravel the mysteries of an abandoned estate that haunts her dreams.  ~ The Deep End Games

In Perception, players will experience the horrors of this first-person experience as Cassie Thornton, a blind woman who must use only her sense of hearing, a walking stick, and a smartphone to navigate her world, in what is being described as a “deadly game of cat-and-mouse”. Cassie must survive “The Presence”, a wicked entity that is haunting the house she finds herself inside with limited resources, while solving the mysteries of the mansion she finds herself in, and what exactly “The Presence” is.

Using echolocation, the game paints vivid images for the gamers in a dark world, as Cassie uses only sound to explore the interior of the mansion and survive her ordeal. “You don’t have shotguns and magic powers and all that,” project lead Bill Gardner said in an interview with Gamespot, back when Perception was first announced two years ago. With the knowledge that gamers will have no real way to defend themselves during the story, Perception promises to be a chilling and dangerous play through that should have hearts pounding as the story unfolds with each new mystery solved.
