Horizon Forbidden West State Of Play Set For This Week (VIDEO)
We are closing in on a year since Horizon Forbidden West was revealed, but not a ton of information has been disclosed since then. Despite industry-wide delays, the highly anticipated title is still expected to arrive at some point this year, and if the recently announced State of Play is any indication, that still might be the case.
Guerrilla Games took to Twitter and the PlayStation Blog to announce that a PlayStation State of Play will be taking place on Thursday, May 27th and it is all about the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West. The presentation is set to premiere at 2pm PT, with a “uniquely crafted countdown” starting at 9am PT. The way that is worded really makes it seem that there may or may not be something special shown during the countdown. Either way, the State of Play will run for 20 minutes, 14 of which will be dedicated to gameplay captured on a PlayStation 5.
We are so excited to show you more of Horizon Forbidden West! This Thursday, May 27, join us on a very special journey into new and uncharted lands.

Getting back to the game’s potential 2021 release, we’ve seen State of Play presentations in the past that were highlighting an upcoming title. Most recently, we got a presentation that focused on Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which is due out next month. That said, we usually get these gameplay and detail dense State of Plays somewhat close to a game’s release date, which would lead many to believe that Horizon Forbidden West is definitely coming out this year. Needless to say, we just might know for sure when the presentation is presented on Thursday.
Horizon Forbidden West is currently in development at Guerrilla Games with an expected release date set for some point in 2021. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
