GTA Online Opens Casino Resort Soon, New Trailer Revealed (VIDEO)
After being under construction for an extended amount of time, Grand Theft Auto Online has finally unveiled a grand opening date for the open-world title’s long-rumored casino area. Dubbed the ‘Diamond Casino & Resort,’ the lively center of high-stakes gambling and entertainment is set to be introduced in a hefty new update scheduled to go live on July 23rd.
More than just a map update, GTA Online is introducing quite the expansion when the resort finally opens its doors. High-end gambling activities will be made available such as Blackjack, slot machines, and even a big, lucky spinning wheel, with a fully-loaded Master Penthouse area overlooking all these luxurious betting festivities. As teased by a new trailer, a bevy of additional characters and story missions will also be included among the aforementioned indulgence. Check it out below.
Laid out on the Rockstar blog, securing a Master Penthouse at the Diamond Casino & Resort will activate several new missions, a special vehicle reward waiting for players that see the story through to completion. “Help property owner Tao Cheng and The Diamond staff protect their investment from the clutches of a corrupt family of Texan petrochemical magnates in a series of all new co-operative missions.” the posts explains. “Each mission pays out special Awards for first-time completion and hosting the entire story thread will reward you with a highly coveted, brand-new vehicle free of charge.”
GTA Online still getting such hefty content updates is truly an amazing feat, especially as it’s been over five years since the game initially launched. This latest expansion is even more noteworthy for putting to bed speculation about the game’s casino area, which had been closed off with a banner that read “opening soon” for most of the site’s existence. It was only recently when the building received renewed interest after Rockstar began teasing the casino would finally make due on its promise to open “soon.”

Grand Theft Auto Online is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The Diamond Casino & Resort update launches on July 23rd.
