GTA 5 Independence Day Update Brings New Online Mode, Car, and ‘Murica!
Independence Day is only a few days away and the holiday is sure to bring along the usual fireworks, barbeques, and patriotism here in the United States. Rockstar Games will be celebrating the Fourth of July in a different way by releasing a brand new update for their popular open-world game Grand Theft Auto 5, where a whole slew of new bonuses are set to be introduced. As part of the GTA 5 Independence Day update, the crime simulator will see the addition of a brand new competitive play mode, a futuristic new vehicle, as well as the launch of an appropriately star-spangled event. ‘Murica!
The most prominent addition Independence Day will bring is a new Adversary mode called “Dawn Raid”. The 6v6 mode will pit two teams against each other with the mission of finding a hidden transmitter and bringing it to another area for evacuation. Dawn Raid will make things much more difficult by covering the whole map in darkness, forcing each side to use night- and thermal-vision goggles to get around safely. As one would expect, things won’t be too safe as each side will be “armed to the teeth,” which will surely to lead to some intense firefights between enemy factions. During the Independence Day celebration, players will be able to earn double GTA$ and PR rewards from now until July 10th.
Launching alongside Dawn Raid is a brand new car, the Dewbauchee Vagner, that has been touted by Rockstar as the “the supercar of tomorrow.” The futuristic vehicle will be available from the in-game Legendary Motorsport website for a presumably large amount of money. The GTA 5 Independence Day update will also bring an over the top Fourth of July event to the game. Players will have access to firework launchers, the glorious Liberator monster truck, a USA-themed Western Sovereign motorcycle, and several additions of what Rockstar describes as “classic outfits”.
All of the mentioned goodies are going be 25% off for the duration of the patriotic proceedings which will end on July 10th. Also available are brand new America-themed clothing for players’ Mobile Operation Center and various Mk II weaponry decorated with the stars and bars, perfect for celebrating the red-white-and-bluest country on Earth. There are more perks including free in-game tees and a sale on fancy yachts detailed on the official Rockstar website.
