Grand Conspiracy Revealed! New South Park: The Fractured But Whole Trailer (Video)

Slated for an early 2017 release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, South Park: The Fractured but Whole has started reveal exactly what we should expect in our upcoming romp through the quiet Colorado town. The most recent addition to their increasing media presence is “The Coon Conspiracy” trailer released by Ubisoft US. Cartman, as his super hero persona, “The Coon” boldly asserts that a local missing cat might be part of an international conspiracy.

The assumed conspiracy is enough justification to assemble all of South Park’s super heroes to ferret out injustice. We’re given a look at exactly who might be joining The Coon in his up coming adventure, as Mysterion, The Human Kite, and Toolshed all flash across the screen alongside the dastardly Professor Chaos. They player joins the team with a created character that can customize their appearance, gear, and skills.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is the direct sequel to the critically lauded 2014 RPG South Park: The Stick of Truth. Where Stick of Truth took advantage of tons of fantasy and RPG tropes to create a comprehensively hilarious experience, The Fractured But Whole will be aiming it’s sights squarely at the recent super hero media machine that has revved up in recent years.

While the Stick of Truth didn’t pull any material directly from the South Park television show, it definitely paired well with the season that was playing at the time of it’s release. Even though you won’t need to be caught up on the television show to understand the plot, it’s probably a good idea to have some familiarity with the characters before you jump into the game. Season 13 episode 2 is a great starting point on getting to know Cartman’s alter ego, The Coon.
