Gillian Anderson Transforms into David Bowie for American Gods TV Show (VIDEO)
Neil Gaiman’s American Gods has made its way to the small screen as a TV series depicting these epic characters that Gaiman has created. The show itself focuses on a character by the name of Shadow Moon that is left to drift after the tragic loss of his wife. Thanks to a mysterious Mr. Wednesday and the offer to become his bodyguard, his life took a drastic turn with many twists and bends, some of those twists including his late wife. As the characters take up arms against the Old Gods, mayhem breaks out with the ultimate clash of power. One of those powerful gods is none other than Media, played by X-Files alum Gillian Anderson.

We’ve already seen Anderson take on the role of Lucy Ricardo from I Love Lucy within this television adaption, and now fans can see this beautiful creature transform into another icon, the late David Bowie. Bryan Fuller had this to say about the general appearance of Media and Anderson’s transformation,
We kind of hybridized media and fame into one character so whenever Media manifests, she manifests as a famous dead person that has contributed greatly to the artistic landscape. So we have her as David Bowie and Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland. And the thing that surprised us about Gillian is that not only is she a wonderful mimic, she’s so willing to transform for a role. When she did Marilyn Monroe, we were gobsmacked by how dedicated she was in bringing that character to life.”
Fans of the wildly successful TV adaptation can see their favourite Spaceman in an all new way as the latest video clip shows off Anderson melding into this new role as Media (as David Bowie, hi). Media is an interesting character, one that can transform into essentially any form they wish in order to deliver messages efficiently. In this case, it’s as the man himself: Mr. Bowie.
