Soon the streaming service Twitch will start selling digital copies of PC games directly from your favorite streamers pages. They announced the new feature today and plan for Spring of this year. When you do purchase a game through Twitch, you’ll be able to launch it through the app itself or from things like Ubisoft’s Uplay. You will also be rewarded with a free Twitch Crate, which is sweet! Each crate has randomized items like chat badges, emotes, and so much more. The best part is that any streamer who is partnered with the site will receive a 5% cut of any game you purchase through their page, while the developers receive 20%.

There are a few publishers who have already signed up for the feature including Telltale Games, Ubisoft, Hi-Rez Studios, and Paradox Interactive. Twitch says that at first the prices will be only in US dollars, but that regional prices will come later this year. Amazon owns Twitch and seeks to earn more money from the service in different ways like the premium subscription package, Twitch Turbo, which is paired with Amazon Prime. Last year they also added micro-transactions for chat items. The new option to buy games will equal more revenue for them, but it will also help out your favorite streamers, so why not show them some love?
