Prototype Footage From Cancelled Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 3 Emerges (VIDEO)

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 3

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 3 is a game that never saw the light of day. After being cancelled in the middle of development, gamers experienced disappointment knowing that they would never be able to enjoy what was meant to be the third installment in the trilogy. The Force Unleashed 3 was intended to be released on then next-gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The systems arrived, but the game did not, unfortunately. What has arrived, however, is some prototype footage.

After the cancellation of the title, some information surfaced from past members of the development team. They had disclosed that The Force Unleashed 3 was going to be more open-world than previous installments. The game’s protagonist, Starkiller, was going to join forces with Vader to battle a new threat presented by the emperor, and thanks to the video below, fans have a chance to see what could have been. Jumping onto an AT-ST was part of the plan, but that opportunity is long gone. Check it out below:

While the footage doesn’t show off much, it gives players a better look at what The Force Unleashed 3 was going to offer. The video mainly showcases some mechanics, including balancing, climbing and jumping off walls, jumping, and even a bit of lightsaber goodness. It’s sad to know this title will never be released, but it’s nice knowing there is much more Star Wars to come. Battlefront II is on its way, along with several other games and movies to keep the Force alive and well with Padawans across the globe.

What do the gamers of the world have to say? Even though the video game was in the early stages of development, does the prototype footage provide enough to be sad that the title was never unleashed?
