First Trailer Drops for Stephen King Film IT – Watch Pennywise in all of His Terrifying Glory Here (VIDEO)
The first official trailer of the Stephen King adapted film IT has just released and if you weren’t scared of clowns before, you might be now. The horror movie has King’s seal of approval and from the cast, down to the overall story … you might want to leave a few lights on before you watch. Check out the first official trailer in the video below and see for yourself:
Earlier, a few images surfaced from the film giving us just a taste of what is to come. Merely a few hours later, the video above released and a lot of people that were doubting the film’s integrity are suddenly a lot more intrigued by the film adaption of horror master Stephen King’s novel IT. If you thought you recognized the actor playing Pennywise, the terrifying clown himself, you may have seen his work in popular TV shows such as Hemlock Grove. Bill Skarsgard takes on the role of the psychotic clown alongside Jaeden Lieberhe (Midnight Special), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), and Wyatt Oleff (Guardians of the Galaxy).
The novel itself first unleashed its clown-fear inspiring power back in 1987 and has since inspired a TV series that continued to make people rethink their stance on these grinning icons. King himself took to Twitter to sooth his fans’ fears about his work being adapted saying that he had already seen the film and was quite pleased with it:
Andy Muschietti's remake of IT (actually it's Part 1–The Losers' Club) succeeds beyond my expectations. Relax. Wait. And enjoy.
— Stephen King (@StephenKing) March 7, 2017
When Stephen King tells you to relax, you do it. And then you say thank you. The film will be broken up into two parts, the first following the children’s fight for survival against Pennywise and the second sees his return when those same children reach adulthood. What doesn’t kill you, makes you have a crippling fear of painted faces. The first part of the film is set for a September 8th release this year world-wide.
